Bam Margera pleads guilty after assaulting brother – will spend six months on probation

The ‘Jackass’ star was charged last April

Jackass star Bam Margera reportedly pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in connection with a family altercation that took place at his home last year, and is due to spend six months on probation.

The 44-year-old was charged with assaulting his brother, as well as threatening other members of the family, during a two-week visit to his home near Philadelphia. Jess reportedly suffered a ruptured eardrum following the altercation. State police announced the charges on April 24, 2023.

His brother Jess said at a court hearing last year that his brother was “a good dude when he’s not messed up”.

Jess also reportedly claimed that his brother had “exhibited troubling behaviour for two decades and, while home, had been awake for days” (via The Independent).

According to The Independent, Bam pleaded guilty to two summary offenses. He also is reportedly clean and sober, following the hearing last year in which he told the judge he was getting drug and alcohol treatment.

Judge William J Brennan said on Wednesday, June 26 (via The Independent): “You can really say he won his case before today just by turning his life around.”

Last December, the former stuntman announced that he had reached the milestone of 100 days sobriety, with the help of actor Mark Wahlberg.

He sent a video to the actor to celebrate the achievement, saying: “What up Mark, it’s Bam Margera here with Dannii, 120 days sober – rock and roll!” to which Wahlberg replied: “Thank you so much for the video bro. I’m so happy for you and your sobriety. 120 days, wow, God bless you bro, hope you and your family are well.”
